Ask SUSUWhat's happening with Stoneham House? The Stoneham site consist of both South Stoneham Tower and South Stoneham House (a grade 2 listed building).
The University has planning permission to redevelop the site however they are at present challenging some of the conditions within the planning agreement.
In the meantime South Stoneham House has been decommissioned. South Stoneham Tower is still available as temporary accommodation for un-guaranteed students, who otherwise would not have got a place in the Halls of Residence, at the beginning of the academic year. As places become available students would be transferred out of the tower and into other rooms in the Halls.
To ensure that these students have the same experience as other students in other Halls, the University is till setting aside money for the Stoneham JCR to use should any students be placed in the Tower.
