Union Club was created in 1971 after difficulties with payments made to organisations that were deemed to be 'Ultra-Vires'. As a charity, the Students Union is not allowed to give money to certain other organisations including particularly Political affiliations. Union Club receives money from a number of games machines in the Union which can then be used for these payments.
